Executive Director

Jen Kositzky CADC, is the Executive Director of Cedar Valley Recovery Services, providing Medication Assisted Treatment to patients in Cedar Falls, Dubuque, and Marion, Iowa. Jen graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She earned her CADC from the Iowa Board of Certification in 2016. For the last 10 years, Jen has been dedicated to improving the lives of others in the mental health and substance abuse field. Jen's experience as a group facilitator, case manager, drug counselor and supervisor have provided her with a strong emphatic and and holistic approach in treating those in crisis. Her drive is fueled by simply "being rational" and "meeting people where they are at." At the end of a rewarding work day, Jen can be found embarking on an outdoor adventure with her husband, 3 year old son and their rescued collie/coyote pup.

My name is Dan Johanns BSW. I graduated from the University Of Iowa School Of Social Work. My professional background is Patient Support Staff at ASAC, Youth Counselor at Four Oaks, Remedial Service Worker at Family Empowerment Services, Case Manager at CVCSS, BHIS/CSS/FSRP at Family Therapeutic Clinic, And currently here as a Substance Abuse Counselor. I enjoy my job because it is highly rewarding and enjoy the staff that I work with on a daily basis.

I have been in the field of social services for over 10 years starting as a Juvenile Correctional Officer. I continued my career path into becoming a Community Resource Liaison, residential youth counselor, FSRP, case management and finally joining the Cedar Valley Recovery Service team in Oct. 2018 as a substance abuse counselor. I love my job for so many reasons but my most important reason is to help people become the best version of themselves.
